NEW: UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research (Oct 2017)

The 4 different Research Government Frameworks (RGF) (one for each of the 4 UK different countries) have been replaced by a new and one Framework labelled the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research (Oct 2017).

The previous UK RGF (version 2.0), which we are more familiar with, was issued in 2005 but over the years it became apparent that updates were needed to be in line with current research systems.

This policy sets out principles of good practice in the management and conduct of health and social care research in the UK. It applies to both interventional and non-interventional trials and studies. It sets out responsibilities in 11 areas including responsibilities for Chief Investigators, Research Teams, Funders, Sponsors and others.
This framework will have an impact on a number of our processes and SOPs and we anticipate changes to our SOPs to reflect the current framework.
