TIDieR Guideline on reporting interventions now published

Details:

This week has seen the publication of the TIDieR guideline in the British Medical Journal. TIDieR stands for Template for Intervention Description and Replication (TIDieR) checklist and guide. The guideline is intended to help authors of trials of complex interventions to report the interventions in a way that would enable health care professionals and other researchers replicate the intervention. It is appropriate for device, therapy, digital technologies and trials of packages of care (including medical). This guideline complements existing guidance of the CONSORT group for reporting of all trials.

The guideline panel included clinical researchers and methodologists, including three researchers from the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit; Professor Doug Altman, Professor Sallie Lamb and Mr Peter McCulloch.
